On 15 July 2024 a tornado with estimated peak winds of 130 miles an hour touched down in Grundy County, tracked northeast across Will, crossed Harlem Avenue into Cook between Route 30 and Old Plank Road, crossed Interstate 57 and ended near Matteson Avenue just west of Cicero Avenue.
